Job summary

APAC Central Inc., a CRH Company, is hiring an entry-level Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, and related machinery. You will diagnose issues, dismantle and rebuild components, and ensure equipment reliability in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting.

A sign-on bonus and strong benefits accompany this role. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–6 months of hands-on heavy equipment experience, and a CDL preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or technical certification in heavy equipment maintenance a plus.
• Minimum 3–6 months of hands-on experience with heavy equipment maintenance or equivalent.
• ASE certifications and a valid CDL (A or B) preferred; clean driving record is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on heavy trucks and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, analyze malfunctions, and deliver effective solutions.
• Dismantle, rebuild, and maintain equipment using advanced tools.
• Inspect parts for wear with precision instruments like micrometers and gauges.
• Replace and overhaul major components: engines, transmissions, hydraulics.
• Test and tune equipment to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Demonstrate welding to restore structural components.
• Lead and mentor team members during cleaning, assembly, and disassembly.
• Document time and parts records accurately for compliance.
• Suggest improvements or alternative technical solutions.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and adhere to safety standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance staff to keep fleet ready for action.
