Rush Truck Centers is seeking a Fabricator to perform layout, fabrication, fixturing and welding or installation on truck and trailer chassis. You will read design drawings and prepare components for current or revised applications.

The role requires proficiency in arc, MIG, and TIG welding, oxy-acetylene heating, and plasma cutting. A background in vehicle fabrication and AWS certifications are expected, with DoT experience desirable.

Formación

• Two years’ experience in welding and vehicle fabrication; DoT inspection desirable.
• AWS welding certifications required for work assigned; maintain tools at own expense.
• Proficient in arc, MIG, and TIG welding of aluminum and steel; heating and cutting processes.

Responsabilidades

• Proficient in arc, MIG, and TIG welding (aluminum and steel); oxy-acetylene and plasma cutting of materials.
• Prepare and/or modify components for current or revised applications.
• Prepare documentation for and/or following manuals and process documents.
• Create/update bills of materials and provide feedback to parts, operations, and engineering.
• Read and understand job orders and schedule work procedures and parts.
• Maintain high proficiency and cost effectiveness to minimize re-work and delays.
• Understand Class 7 and 8 trucks, torque settings, and vehicle systems.
• Install and use vehicle hydraulic pumps, motors, and piping; manage grounding during welding.
• Know welding gases, secure bottles and regulators; ensure safe propane use for fork trucks.
