Job summary

The Simplot Company in Wauchula, FL is seeking a Truck Driver/Operations Support 3 to operate and maintain company vehicles in compliance with State and Federal DOT standards. This full-time role offers seasonal overtime opportunities and a strong safety culture.

You will perform pre/post trip inspections, load and deliver product, and support warehouse operations while providing excellent customer service. CDL is required; English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class A or B CDL required.
• 3+ years of related experience (agriculture or equipment operation preferred).
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook) and mobile apps.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and operates company assigned vehicles according to DOT/DMV standards, including hazmat placarding when required.
• Performs routine maintenance on tractors, trailers, and forklifts; fuels and inspects as needed.
• Maintains accurate pre- and post-trip logs and inspection sheets per DOT requirements.
• Loads and unloads products, assists with deliveries to customer locations while ensuring safety.

What You'll Do

• Maintains and operates company assigned vehicles according to State and Federal DOT/DMV standards regarding safe transportation of non-hazardous and hazardousmaterials including proper HAZMAT placarding when required.
• Responsible for general maintenance on company assigned tractors, trailers, and forklifts which may include but is not limited to replenishing fuel, checking and replenishing fluid levels, tire wear and air pressure monitoring, monitor vehicles general operational systems, assisting location manager with scheduling state inspection requirements, maintaining and scheduling routine service and maintenance, keeping inside and outside of vehicle clean and presentable.
• Maintains accurate pre and post trip driver's logs and inspection sheets according to State and Federal DOT requirements.
• Operates warehouse forklift, prepares product for delivery, securely loads product on the truck for delivery to customer locations following company required safety procedures at all times. May be asked to preform will call pickups at vendor locations as needed.
• Responsible for offloading products at customer locations, assisting customers with rotating products as needed. Exceptional customer service and professionalism always expected.
• Expected to perform varied responsibilities when not delivering products including but not limited to general equipment and warehouse maintenance, general housekeeping/cleaning, loading and offloading inbound and outbound LTL/FTL shipments, storing/stocking of products, participate in routine inventory counts, product rotation and storage, participating in and completing company assigned training.
• Other miscellaneous duties may include, providing back-up to location manager/warehouse employees, assisting with and participating in special projects and training classes, may be asked to assist with deliveries at other Simplot locations when required.

What You Bring

• Class A or B CDL required.
• 3+ years of related experience (agriculture or equipment operation preferred).
• Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklifts, moffet trucks, semi-trucks, trailers).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, mobile apps).
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
