Job summary

Ryder Supply Chain Solutions is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Bloomfield, CT. The role features weekly pay, comprehensive benefits after 30 days, and a local home-daily route with 42 hours per week.

You'll operate a 53' reefer with no-touch freight and be supported by Ryder's nationwide network. PTO starts day 1, uniforms and boot allowance, and a 401(k) with company match are included as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Must have verifiable driving experience in similar equipment.
• Pass Ryder drug test and background check.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard; no on-road driving for this position.
• Comply with safety and DOT regulations and participate in ongoing training.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Must have verifiable driving experience in "like" equipment:
  • 9 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR
  • 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
  • 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Yard Driver Examination
• Must have a valid driver's license
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

This position does not require the operation of CDL-regulated equipment. However, candidates who possess a valid Commercial Drivers License will be subject to FMCSA requirements, including but not limited to, pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse query.

Responsibilities

• Primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard, but cannot drive on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
