Job description

The Truck Driver II position supports Triad Goodwill’s mission by being responsible for safely and effectively driving and operating company leased or owned trucks and equipment. They handle the loading and unloading of donations, equipment, fixtures, recycling and other related items from trucks and trailers by hand or with the use of provided equipment. They serve as a role model for other employees, promoting teamwork and exemplary customer service.

Essential Functions:

  • Safely and efficiently operate commercial motor vehicles in urban, suburban, and rural areas in all weather conditions to transport freight
  • Load, unload, and move materials at store locations
  • Comply with company policies and federal, state and local regulations
  • Follow company procedures for safely loading and unloading freight
  • Take and verify dispatch instructions
  • Operate a tractor-trailer combination (vans)
  • Load and unload freight in varying weather conditions at the store facilities
  • Safe operation of equipment and on-time movement of shipments
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections
  • Maintain logs according to state and federal regulations if applicable

Requirements for Qualified Drivers:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Class A CDL and safe driving record/history
  • No major accidents in the last 3 years
  • Must pass a DOT drug test
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs. frequently, greater than 75 lbs. occasionally
  • Forklift experience is preferred
