Description

The Transportation and Parking unit is seeking applications for part-time Bus Driver positions. These positions will provide transportation services to the University community and its visitors, and assist in the development and design of routes to meet various transportation needs of a major institution.

What you'll do:

1. Arrange route schedules to meet daily University demands with supervisory personnel, as well as campus tours, in-state charters, and out-of-state charter trips.
2. Drive assigned bus on scheduled route.
3. Ensure quality service and rider safety for all passengers.
4. Inspect assigned bus and maintain it in a clean, orderly, and safe condition, including exterior and interior cleaning, fueling/oil, touch-up paint, changing and rotating tires, installing chains during inclement weather, and reporting and coordinating repair maintenance.
5. Transport mobility-impaired users.
6. Complete other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent
• At least one (1) year of driving experience, preferably in congested and/or residential areas

Requirements:

• DOT check
• Drug Test
• Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (Class C considered but must obtain Class B within 45 days; Passenger Endorsement preferred, to be obtained within 45 days of hire)
• Complete written test through DMV if Passenger Endorsement not held; permit issued within 10 business days of contingent offer
• Valid Medical Card (must be valid for at least six months)
• CPR/first aid certification (preferred)
• Disability services equipment certification (preferred)
• Physical demands include visual and mental concentration, physical coordination, lifting up to 50 pounds, stooping and bending, long periods of sitting with traffic concentration
