Position Details:
- Schedule is Monday - Friday with dispatch times starting at 2am.
- Pay- Average Annual Salary $70K+ (hourly rate plus component pay, details in interview).
Position Purpose:
The Driver, Hourly CDL-A is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes for delivering and unloading food and related products to customers safely and timely, complying with DOT regulations. Communicates professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly. Works as part of a team and performs duties to serve the company best.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Performs safety checks (pre/post trip), inspects tractor/truck and trailer per DOT standards, reports safety issues or repairs.
- Follows DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Reports hazards, inspects freight loading, and secures cargo properly.
- Checks items, verifies invoices, and completes all freight paperwork accurately.
- Moves tractor to loading dock, attaches preloaded trailer, and delivers orders per schedule.
- Unloads products, verifies delivery, collects signatures and payments if required.
- Loads returns, secures trailer, and ensures equipment is locked and secured.
- Unloads damaged goods and returns, completes paperwork, and maintains trailer cleanliness.
- Records hours of service daily as per regulations.
- Performs housekeeping duties and secures equipment at shift end.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- 1+ years tractor/trailer driving experience.
- Valid CDL-A license.
- Meets state licensing/certification requirements.
- Clean MVR for past 3 years.
- Pass road test.
- Current DOT health card or ability to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and handle freight weighing 10-90 pounds.
