Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver for Rocky Mount, VA. The role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path in a driving career you can feel good about.

Starting with a guaranteed $1,500 for the first 4 weeks and pay per stop, plus paid training, you will run regional routes with sleepers and a 53' dry van schedule. Benefits include PTO from day 1 and many employee perks.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check, including drug/alcohol verification for last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Provide a valid Class A CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience within past 3 years OR 2 years within 5 years OR 5 years within 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining logs and records.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading as required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• First 4 weeks is Guarantee Pay: $1500.00
• Jobsite Deliveries: $45 per stop

• Schedule: Friday - Tuesday
• Start Time: Could start as early as 7:00 AM or as late as 5:00 PM

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test

• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
