Job summary

Penske is hiring immediate opportunities for a Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Driver in La Vergne, TN. You will deliver medical supplies to hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers, with a home-daily schedule and comprehensive benefits.

Expect early starts around 3:30 AM, roughly 45–50 stops per week, and occasional cross-dock duties. Penske offers strong health coverage, retirement benefits, and ongoing training across a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL and domiciled in the U.S. with state license
• Non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
• 1 year of tractor-trailer experience in last 3 years or 2 years in last 5 years
• 3 years DMV/MVR with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
• Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards

Responsibilities

• Deliver medical supplies to hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers
• Complete approximately 45–50 stops per week
• Cover vacation, emergency, and backhaul driver needs
• Maintain professional demeanor with customers
• Work safely and meet delivery schedules
• Unload/sort/load when cross-docking
• Handle touch freight with pallet jacks and carts

Immediate Opportunities: Full-time Local Class A CDL Truck Drivers

• Earn $27.74 per hour, plus overtime after 40 hours


• Average $65000 annually


• Home daily


• Local routes delivering medical supplies


• Simple drop-and-hook shuttle routes available as needed


• Consistent, reliable work serving hospitals, clinics, and surgeon centers

You will drive:

• Late model, Penske Truck Leasing trucks


• Best-in-class specs designed for comfort


• Automatic transmission equipment


• Dry van trailers


• Equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras, helping to ensure safety for all

What you will do:

• Deliver medical supplies needed to provide patient care to hospitals, clinics, and surgical centers


• Complete approximately 45-50 stops per week


• Cover vacation, emergency, and backhaul driver needs


• Maintain professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with customers


• Work safely and reliably while meeting delivery schedules


• When assigned to the cross-dock, unload, sort, stage, and load product for outbound delivery


• Handle touch freight using electric/manual pallet jacks and hands carts as needed

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday


• Most outbound routes begin around 3:30 AM


• Flexibility required to cover different routes and assignments


• May cover evening shuttle positions as needed; primarily simple drop-and-hook

Qualifications:

• Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence


• Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required


• 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years


• 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents


• Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines


• Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job


• In order to be compliant with federal law (49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)), this role requires English language proficiency.


• Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required


• This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.
