Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Kansas City, MO. This regular-full-time position offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career with growth opportunities.

Expect a schedule of 60 hours per week, with $30.00 per hour base pay and per diem opportunities. Tractors are sleepers with 53' dry vans for regional routes. Drivers enjoy paid training, a robust benefits package after 30 days, PTO from day 1 (up to 80 hours first year), boot allowance, and a 401(k)

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass Ryder background and motor vehicle checks incl. road test; and/or customer requirements for last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide Class A CDL with endorsements for the position.
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle.
• 9 months experience in past 3 years OR 2 years in last 5 years OR 5 years in last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detect and minimize safety hazards; maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight or assist in loading/unloading as required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
