Job summary

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Indianapolis, IN. This role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Expect $2,000+ per week, with hourly pay of $29.00+ and per diem of $50 per night.

Overnight travel and hotel accommodations are provided for routes, with tenure bonuses and paid training. Drivers operate regional routes delivering to IN, OH, MI, TN & KY. Equipment includes day cabs, sleepers, and various trailer types.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age.
• CDL with Class A verifiable tractor trailer experience.
• DOT physical, drug test, and background/MVR checks.
• Endorsements required for the position.
• 1 of: 9 months in past 3 years; 2 years in past 5 years; 5 years in past 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards; maintaining accurate records and logs.
• Loading/unloading freight or assisting in loading/unloading when required by customer.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Hourly Pay: $29.00+ Per Hour

• Tractor Type: Day Cabs and Sleepers - Possibility of 26' Straight Truck

• TrailerType:48' - 53' Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Reefers, Conestogas, Curtainsides and Container

• Equipment: pallet jack, lift gate, rollers or Moffett

• 1 year of Flatbed experience required

• Reefer experience required

• Hazmat, Tanker & Doubles/Triples Endorsements required

• Experience with strapping, chaining & tarping

Ryder Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks, 36 months or newer with 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and fueling at over 800 nationwide maintenance locations

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age

• Pass a Ryder Drug Test

• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years

• Pass a DOT physical

• Pass a Ryder road test

• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position

• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle

• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR

• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR

• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years

• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions

• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
