Job summary

Carolina-Container-A-Division-of-New-Indy seeks a licensed driver to operate a tractor-trailer or bobtail truck, delivering sheets and finished products to customers. Role includes loading/unloading, daily vehicle checks, and accurate paperwork.

The position requires CDL, DOT physical, and safety-conscious operation in a fast-paced environment. Experience in corrugated industries and forklift operation are preferred, with a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid state Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and DOT medical requirements.
• Experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
• Experience as a licensed driver in the metropolitan area preferred.
• Experience as a forklift operator preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer or bobtail truck to deliver sheets or finished products to customers.
• Frequent sitting for extended periods; load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product.
• Inspect load to ensure proper loading and correct quantity; verify count during unloading.
• Transport load via required route while observing traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Complete shipping paperwork, reports, and daily timecards accurately and timely.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and report maintenance items; maintain truck and trailers.
• Comply with company policies and maintain good housekeeping.
• Additional duties as assigned by management.

Responsible for safely and efficiently operate a tractor-trailer or bobtail truck to deliver sheets orfinished products to customers and in accordance with state laws.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFrequent sitting for extended periods of time.Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product in or from trailer.Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving.Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.Transport load by required route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safetyregulations.Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork toshipping office.Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to:Production Data, Truck Service Data, Safety Data, Quality Data.Complete daily timecard, driver logs, and all other work reports accurately and in a timelymanner.Perform daily services such as - checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and cleanvehicle as needed.Report any maintenance items to supervision immediately. Be proactive in the maintenance ofthe truck and trailers.Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining goodhousekeeping.Additional duties may be assigned by management.LANGUAGE SKILLSAble to read and follow instructions on factory masters.MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAble to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
