Responsibilities

• Maintain shipping paperwork, logs, and reports accurately and timely.
• Record daily timecards and driver logs; perform daily vehicle checks.
• Report maintenance needs promptly and contribute to vehicle upkeep.
• Comply with company policies and safety, keep work area clean.

Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a tractor-trailer or bobtail truck to deliver sheets or finished products to customers in accordance with state laws.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Frequent sitting for extended periods of time.
• Load/unload or assist in loading/unloading finished product in or from trailer.
• Inspect load in trailer to ensure it is properly loaded and it is the correct load before leaving.
• Verify count while truck is being unloaded, as allowed by customers.
• Transport load by required route to proper destination while observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.
• Obtain shipping bill of lading and necessary signatures and return completed paperwork to shipping office.
• Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Production Data, Truck Service Data, Safety Data, Quality Data.
• Complete daily timecard, driver logs, and all other work reports accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform daily services such as checking the oil level, water level, fuel, air in tires, and clean vehicle as needed.
• Report any maintenance items to supervision immediately. Be proactive in the maintenance of the truck and trailers.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and maintaining good housekeeping.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
• Able to apply concepts of high school math.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. On the road the employee may encounter traffic and other hazardous driving conditions.
