Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Rocky Mount, VA. The role offers weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about.

Deliver solo to yard positions with home daily routes, 53' dry van trailers, no-touch freight, and a 2:00 PM start in a 60-hour week. Enjoy medical, dental & Vision after 30 days, PTO from day 1 (up to 80 hours first year), uniforms and boot/cell phone allowance, and a 401(k) match after 1 year.

Qualifications

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within past 3 years OR 2 years within last 5 years OR 5 years within last 10 years

Responsibilities

• Safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
