Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Columbus, OH is seeking a SOLO Class A CDL Part-Time Transfer Driver to shuttle equipment between Ryder facilities. Local home daily with a schedule of Monday–Friday, 30–35 hours per week and a pay rate of $22.00 per hour.

The position offers a sign-on bonus and a benefits network, including 401(k) with company match and maternity leave options. Trucks are 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance support.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older and pass Ryder drug test.
• Must have CDL Class A with endorsements for the position.
• Ability to follow written or oral instructions and apply regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a commercial vehicle and comply with safety and DOT regulations.
• Perform continuous training and provide customer service as part of duties.
• Maintain accurate records and logs and support shuttle transfer movements.
• Follow routes between Ryder customer facilities with no-touch freight where applicable.

Weekly Pay $660 per weekAnd it gets better -

• Driver Positions Pay Weekly
• Hourly Pay: $22.00 Per Hour
• Home Time: Local - Home Daily
• Schedule: Between Monday - Friday
• Part Time: 30 - 35 hrs weekly
• Start Time: 8:00 AM
• Sign On Bonus: Pays $250 at 30 and 90 days, 6 months, and 1 year

All Drivers have 24/7 Roadside Maintenance by a Ryder Trained Technician plus Service Employees fuel up our trucks at all 800+ Maintenance Facilities

• Route: Shuttle Equipment between Ryder Customer Facilities
• Freight:No Touch - Empty Trailers for Equipment Shuttle Transfer Movement

Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide.

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test
• Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years’ experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years’ experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely driving a commercial vehicle and requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs Other tasks as assigned
