Job summary

Exelon is seeking a skilled Equipment Operator/ CDL Driver to load, secure and operate heavy vehicles within the service area. The role supports material delivery and requires flexibility for shift work and potential remote locations within the PECO system.

On-site position in Pennsylvania with possible progression to Equipment Operator. Competitive benefits included in the package.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in tractor/trailer driving and working with heavy equipment.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Experience working around or near energized equipment.
• OSHA Forklift certification or ability to become OSHA Forklift certified.
• 1-3 years experience with basic rigging techniques for lifting of equipment and materials onto vehicles.
• 1-3 years experience using the proper method of securing different types of material to be loaded and transported on flatbed trailers.
• Working knowledge of boom trucks, and tractor-trailers.

Responsibilities

• Load, securement and operate all CDL type vehicles in the Transportation Fleet within the service territory.
• Assist the Equipment Operator in vehicle operation and rigging work for Material Delivery.
• Note: This is an on-site position; employees are required to be in the office at our Berywyn - PA location for any scheduled shifts.
• Progression possibility to Equipment Operator based on business needs.

Primary Purpose

Load, securement and operate all CDL type vehicles in the Transportation Fleet including tractor trailers, tankers, oversized and permitted vehicles within the service territory. Assist the Equipment Operator in vehicle operation and associated rigging work for Material Delivery work.

Primary Duties

• Flexibility in reporting to remote work locations within the PECO Energy system
• Available for shift work as required
• Available for off-hours work opportunities
• Basic rigging techniques for lifting equipment and materials onto vehicles to deliver to various locations
• Understands the proper method of securing different types of material to be loaded and transported
• Successful candidate is expected to have the ability to progress to Equipment Operator should business needs require

Job Scope

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in tractor/trailer driving experience and working with heavy equipment
• Class A CDL license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Experience working around or near energized equipment
• OSHA Forklift certified or the ability to become OSHA Forklift certified
• One to three years experience with basic rigging techniques for the lifting of equipment and materials onto vehicles for delivery to various location
• One to three years experience using the proper method of securing different types of material to be loaded and transported on flatbed trailers
• Working knowledge of boom trucks, and tractor-trailers

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift Experience
• Trained in the use of hand signals for cranes
• Experience with hazmat, tanker, flatbed and forklift
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
