Job summary

Exelon is seeking a skilled Transportation Fleet Operator to load, secure and operate CDL vehicles across the PECO Energy system. The role requires Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements, 3–5 years of tractor-trailer driving, and experience with rigging and securing loads.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years tractor/trailer driving experience.
• Class A CDL with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements.
• Experience around energized equipment.
• OSHA forklift certification or ability to obtain.
• 1–3 years rigging loads for delivery.
• 1–3 years securing material on flatbeds.
• Familiar with boom trucks and tractor-trailers.

Responsibilities

• Load, secure and operate CDL vehicles in the Transportation Fleet.
• Assist Equipment Operator with rigging and delivery tasks.
• Progress to Equipment Operator if business needs require.
• Report for shift work and potential off-hours opportunities.
• Maintain safe operation within the PECO Energy system.

Load, securement and operate all CDL type vehicles in the Transportation Fleet including tractor trailers, tankers, oversized and permitted vehicles within the service territory. Assist the Equipment Operator in vehicle operation and associated rigging work for Material Delivery work.

Note: This is an on-site position. Employees are required to be in office at our Berywyn - PA location for any scheduled shifts.

Primary Duties

• Flexibility in reporting to remote work locations within the PECO Energy system
• Available for shift work as required
• Available for off-hours work opportunities
• Basic rigging techniques for lifting equipment and materials onto vehicles to deliver to various locations
• Understands the proper method of securing different types of material to be loaded and transported
• Successful candidate is expected to have the ability to progress to Equipment Operator should business needs require

Minimum Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in tractor/trailer driving experience and working with heavy equipment
• Class A CDL license with Hazmat and Tanker endorsements
• Experience working around or near energized equipment
• OSHA Forklift certified or the ability to become OSHA Forklift certified
• One to three years experience with basic rigging techniques for the lifting of equipment and materials onto vehicles for delivery to various location
• One to three years experience using the proper method of securing different types of material to be loaded and transported on flatbed trailers
• Working knowledge of boom trucks, and tractor-trailers

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift Experience
• Trained in the use of hand signals for cranes
• Experience with hazmat, tanker, flatbed and forklift
• Ability to work overtime, as needed
