Job summary

Chain Electric Company is seeking a professional truck driver to operate a variety of equipment and perform work on electrical distribution, transmission, and substation systems as directed by the Foreman. This role involves driving company trucks hauling heavy equipment and materials to job sites.

The right candidate will have a valid CDL Class A, DOT medical certification, and at least 2 years of related experience, with the ability to work irregular hours, lift up to 50 lbs, and communicate

Qualifications

  • Minimum 24 months of related field experience.
  • Must possess valid CDL Class A license and DOT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Follow safety practices and report unsafe conditions.
  • Safely drive and operate company vehicles and equipment.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance and washing.
  • Ensure loads are secured and paperwork complete.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas.
  • Coordinate with crew to anticipate needs.
  • Control traffic in work zones safely.
  • Travel and work irregular hours as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
  • Comply with safetypractices, rules, and regulations while performing job duties and followcompany procedure in reporting unsafe conditions or practices.
  • Safely drive and operate companyvehicles, digger derrick, backhoes, boom and pole trucks, fork lift, and safelyoperate power tools.
  • Facilitate alignment,movement, or adjustment of machinery, equipment, or materials.
  • Be knowledgeable with FMCSR regulations concerning load securement and weight regulations for commercial vehicles.
  • Ensure material and equipment make it safely to the destination on schedule and appropriate paperwork is complete.
  • Maintain professional interaction with internal and external customers.
  • Complete pre-trip checking: including inspection of vehicle, check fuel, oil and water levels of vehicle, brakes, tires and lights, adjust all mirrors for safe operation of equipment, check and secure load.
  • Assist in performing maintenance as needed.
  • Assist with washingand maintaining equipment in proper working order.
  • Be in close proximityof work area to anticipate the needs of the crew, prepare tools and operateequipment for crew members for the particular work being performed.
  • Load, unload, oridentify building materials, machinery, or tools.
  • Keep work areas cleanand organized.
  • Safely control trafficpassing near, in, or around work zones.
  • Keep unauthorizedpeople away from work area.
  • Work as a team and fulfill any andall other duties and tasks as assigned.
Education :

High School graduate or GED.

Experience :

Minimum of24 month’s experience in related field

Certificates & Licenses:
  • Possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License - Class A
  • Pass and maintain DOT Medical Certification
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Available to work irregular hours, weekends and holidays, as needed, for long periods without scheduled time off
  • Ability to operateheavy equipment
  • Ability to handle physically demanding construction duties in harsh weather conditions
  • Ability to lift aminimum of 50 lbs
  • Ability to communicatewell with others
  • Ability to assist with maintenance of equipment, as needed
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Oversize/Overweight Loads, RGN Lowboys and Traveling axle trailers is a plus.
