Job summary

Frazer, a leading builder of emergency medical vehicles, is seeking a Truck Assembler to join our team in Houston. The role involves hands-on work, prepping chassis, mounting modules, and installing components that first responders depend on.

We hire at four levels—Entry I through Master IV—offering growth from the shop floor to lead technician, with a focus on precision, following instructions, and adherence to quality.

Qualifications

• 0–1 year of mechanical or assembly experience; entry-level with hands-on aptitude encouraged to apply.
• Ability to follow written and visual work instructions step by step.
• Basic familiarity with hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs occasionally and stand for up to 8 hours on a concrete floor.
• 2–3 years of hands-on mechanical, assembly, or automotive installation experience.
• Full proficiency with hand, power, and air tools; ability to execute multi-step installs with minimal direction.
• Working knowledge of ShopTrack or a similar production tracking system.
• Demonstrated ability to cross-train across 2–3 work centers.

Responsibilities

• Pulls the work order, checks parts against the list, and stages everything at the workstation before the first tool is lifted.
• Installs lighting systems, cameras, monitors, speakers, video recording devices, suspensions, and grille guards per spec.
• Clocks in and out of each job in ShopTrack, keeping production records accurate and current.
• Flags missing or incorrect parts immediately and follows up until they're resolved.
• Signs off completed tasks and clears punch-list items within the hour.
• Verifies every installation against work instructions before calling it done.
• Troubleshoots complex fit-and-function issues and resolves them at the technician level.
• Reviews work instruction accuracy, proposes improvements, and mentors less experienced technicians.
