Job description

At Heiman Fire Equipment, we take pride in creating custom-built fire trucks and providing the best equipment in the fire industry for each and every department we serve, delivering the best possible experience to our customers. Heiman Fire is looking to hire a Fire Truck Assembler responsible for assembling various parts for the different fire trucks we build.

Responsibilities

• Position and fasten together custom assemblies related to firefighting.
• Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten custom parts including mounting steps, handrails, lighting options, cabinetry, or other related items.
• Install custom Fire Truck accessories according to customer specifications.
• Cut and bend metal trim to specified size and configuration using tools and machines.
• Perform basic electrical work relating to firefighting.
• Sand, grind, or prepare surfaces.
• Clean and detail equipment prior to customer inspection.
• Test equipment used with firefighting apparatus.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with autobody repair or automotive body shop preferred.
• Associate's Degree in Auto Body repair or related area preferred.
• Basic mechanical aptitude.
• Strong mathematical skills.
