Job summary

Pennsylvania Counseling Services, Inc. seeks a Truancy Mentor to work within Check & Connect, an evidence-based program focused on preventing truancy and keeping students engaged in their education.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by guiding students back on the path to success. As a Truancy Mentor, you will work directly with students to encourage attendance, monitor attendance, and collaborate with school staff and partners to develop effective interventions, including home

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Valid driver's license and car insurance
• PA State Police Criminal History Check
• FBI Criminal Background Check completed through the Department of Human Services
• PA Childline Abuse History Clearance

Responsibilities

• Encourage school attendance and engagement among students
• Monitor attendance and follow up with students and families
• Collaborate with school staff and community partners to develop intervention strategies
• Serve as mentor, advocate, and service coordinator for students
• Conduct home visits to stay connected with families and provide ongoing support
