Job summary

North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC seeks a Program Coordinator for the TRIO Programs to support middle and high school participants, fostering educational enrichment and college access. You will coordinate activities, advise students, and help with planning and outreach to promote success in pursuing higher education.

The role requires a bachelor's degree plus relevant experience, with a schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and occasional evenings/weekends.

Qualifications

• Require post-baccalaureate credentials or a bachelor's degree plus equivalent professional training and experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Counseling, Social Science or equivalent field plus relevant professional training and/or experience.
• Experience in academic skill development, counseling and working with a variety of students.
• Database software proficiency.
• Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office Word, Publisher and PowerPoint.
• Proficient knowledge in utilizing social media technology as a professional tool.
• Ability to work independently, handle ambiguity, manage multiple projects, schedules and deadlines.
• Ability to network with on campus constituents, targeted community members, and public school personnel.

Responsibilities

• Provide program resources and services to ensure personal, vocational, and educational success.
• Provide academic assistance to specified students in caseload.
• Identify academic needs for each participant and address those needs.
• Assist participants with the college application and financial aid process.
• Coordinate and support academic programming for both Talent Search programs.
• Monitor academic performance (transcripts, report cards, etc.).
• Ensure accuracy of each student's academic progress.
• Plan educational and personal growth activities for participants.
• Coordinate activities to expose students to future career opportunities.
• Visit all schools within assigned caseload.
• Recruit program participants within target schools.
• Maintain student's academic records and files securely.
• Keep participant's contact information up to date.
• Assist with summer personnel hiring process (interviews, hiring decisions).
• Other tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
