Job summary

Volunteer State Community College seeks a Manager of TRIO Student Support Services to oversee the federally funded grant, direct staff, manage budgets, and ensure compliance with ED regulations. The role emphasizes program development, APR reporting, data-driven decisions, and cross-campus collaboration to expand access for eligible students and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in related field.
• Minimum five (5) years counseling experience with low-income/first-generation students or in education support programs.
• Three (3) years administrative experience including supervision of staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead TRIO SSS program direction and align with grant goals and institutional mission.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff including full-time employees, tutors/mentors, and work-study students.
• Oversee participant recruitment and retention per federal criteria.
• Ensure delivery of academic advising, financial literacy, tutoring, career planning and transfer preparation.
• Develop cross-campus partnerships to expand resources and advocate needs of SSS participants.
• Manage program budget per ED guidelines and institutional policies.
• Monitor outcomes and prepare required reports (APR) with accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead continuous program improvement using assessment data and best practices.
