Job summary

Grayson College invites applications for the TRIO Student Support Services Administrative Assistant Position II. This grant-funded role helps improve persistence, graduation, and transfer rates for disadvantaged students in alignment with TRIO guidelines.

The SSS Advisor provides direct support and coaching to students who are low-income, first-generation, or otherwise at risk. The salary range is $21.30-$31.93 per hour.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of one year in a related area; two to three years in TRIO or similar programs preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or related field.
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
• High sensitivity to target populations.

Responsibilities

• 30% Student Recruitment and Evaluation: Recruit, interview, and evaluate potential students for the TRIO SSS program.
• 20% Personalized Student Coaching: Provide one-on-one and group coaching in goal-setting, time management, self-advocacy, and study skills.
• 15% Workshop Development and Presentation: assist with college success workshops (financial literacy, financial aid navigation, career exploration, course selection, degree planning).
• 15% Action Plan Development: help students create and implement individualized action plans; administer assessments to identify needs.
• 15% Program Data and Reporting: maintain data and documentation for program implementation, tracking, and grant evaluation in Blumen database.
• 5% Ongoing Campus Collaboration and Other Duties: collaborate with campus programs and perform other duties as assigned.
