Job summary

Viterbo University seeks an Academic Advisor for TRIO/Student Support Services to guide TRIO students through advising, success planning, progress monitoring, and referrals to campus resources. The role also helps with programming, events, faculty collaboration, and campus engagement.

This is a permanent, full-time, 12-month position funded by grant activity. The advisor will manage a caseload of about 200 students, build rapport through multiple contact methods, and coordinate with TRIO/HUB

Qualifications

• Master's degree in counseling, education, social work, business, or related field.
• Three years of experience working with diverse student populations in higher education.
• Five years of experience working with diverse, disadvantaged underrepresented student populations.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseload of TRIO students (approx. 200) and maintain accurate records.
• Provide advising, success planning, and referrals to campus resources.
• Support TRIO programming, events, and collaboration with HUB and faculty.
• Promote use of academic support resources to maximize student experience.
• Advise on curriculum, degree requirements, and engagement options.
• Participate in professional development and coordinate with director.
