Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking candidates for on-site tree care roles in Greensboro, NC. You will trim and remove trees, remove diseased limbs, and contribute to health and safety of trees and surroundings.

Role includes climbing training, hands-on pruning/removal duties, and operating equipment like chainsaws and aerial lifts. Paid time off, advancement opportunities, and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and become a member of a tree crew while learning new skills.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal safely and skillfully for clients, including tree identification and pruning guidelines.
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the canopy; install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees and properly maintain tools and equipment such as chainsaws and aerial lifts.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do

• Learn to climb trees! (Yes, we will pay you to do that.)
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while progressing learning new skills
• Learn to perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients. Including but not limited to:
• Tree identification and industry pruning guidelines
• Prune, thin, and remove deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, and more.
