Davey Tree Surgery Co. is hiring a climbing arborist for Cypress, TX, performing tree pruning and removal to promote tree health and safety. You’ll climb using specialized systems, work with a crew, and maintain all tools and equipment in a safety-driven environment.

The role emphasizes outdoor work, safety training on hire, and opportunities for advancement within a employee-owned company that values quality service and community partnerships.

Qualifications

• Outdoor-loving candidates with forestry, horticulture, landscaping background preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation and safety courses on hire.
• Licenses or certificates in pesticides may be required by state law.
• Willingness to work at heights and use climbing systems safely.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS systems.
• Work as part of a crew with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform pruning, removal, and safety work for clients.
• Maintain and operate chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and related gear.
• Assist with installing cables, bracing and lightning protection as needed.
• Identify and remove hazardous trees safely.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
