Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a climbing arborist to join our field team in Hartwell, GA. You will work outdoors, ascend trees using DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, and perform pruning, removal, and health-care tasks on client trees.

We provide training, safety gear, and opportunities for advancement within a national leader in tree care. This full-time role requires a CDL w/ airbrake and a commitment to safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• Must have CDL with airbrake or be willing to obtain it.
• Must complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• First aid, CPR and defensive driving training to be completed on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prune and remove trees safely and skillfully.
• Work as part of a crew with foreman and ground crew.
• Operate climbing systems (DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS).
• Maintain tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• How high you grow depends on you!
• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreman.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights
• REQUIRED: Commercial Driver's License w/ airbrake endorsement or willing to obtain CDL upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey first aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
