Job summary

Davey Tree Surgery Co. is seeking a utility line clearance trimmer in Wilson, NC. The role focuses on climbing, pruning and removing trees to support major electric utility providers, with safety and teamwork as core values.

You will operate chainsaws, chippers and lifting gear, while coordinating with a foreperson and ground crew to deliver high-quality service in outdoor environments. This is a full-time, on-site position offering growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work experience is required.
• CDL-Class A/B with Airbrake endorsement is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and prune or remove limbs for utility line clearance.
• Perform pruning and removal work safely for major electric utilities.
• Maintain and operate tools including chainsaws and chippers.
• Work as a crew member with foreperson and ground crew.

Position Overview

Davey Utility Line Clearance, a division of The Davey Tree Expert Company, is pleased to offer a key opportunity in the field of Utility Line Clearance as a Trimmer.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Required: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
