Davey Tree Surgery Co. in Florida is seeking a dynamic Utility Tree Trimmer to join our outdoor-focused team. Your office will be outdoors as you perform pruning and removal work for major electric utility providers, using Davey’s climbing systems to access treetops.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment operation, and teamwork with ground crew and a foreperson. A valid driver's license is required, and CDL is preferred. Training and advancement opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree orientation program on hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course on hire.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake endorsement preferred.
• Line clearance experience or related tree work preferred.
• Pesticide licenses/certificates required by state law preferred.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees using Davey’s climbing systems.
• Prune and remove trees for utility providers safely.
• Remove broken limbs from lines, roofs and other areas.
• Identify trees and apply pruning guidelines.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Work as a crew member with ground crew and foreperson.

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire
• Required: valid driver’s license
• Preferred: Commercial Driver’s License-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work
• Preferred: relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law
