Job summary

Wolf Tree, Inc. is seeking a dynamic utility tree trimmer to join our outdoor team in Maryville, TN. You’ll perform pruning and removal for major utility providers, climb with DdRT/MRS or SRT/SRS systems, and operate equipment safely on a daily basis.

We value a love of the outdoors, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to complete required safety and orientation trainings. CDL and line clearance experience are preferred, with opportunities for advancement across a nationwide network.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Required: valid driver’s license.
• Preferred: CDL-Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
• Preferred: line clearance experience or other related tree work.
• Preferred: pesticide licenses and certificates if state law requires.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal for utility work.
• Prune treetops and remove damaged trees; trim or remove as needed.
• Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other structures.
• Identify trees using industry pruning guidelines and perform tool maintenance.
• Operate equipment safely, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
• Work as part of a crew with foreperson and ground crew.
• Growth opportunities depend on performance.

Position Overview

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for major electric utility providers. Including but not limited to:
• Pruning treetops and repairing damaged trees by trimming or removal
• Removing broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects
• Application of tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including, chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and foreperson
