Job summary

Rubbercraft is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I - Cold Trim to join our Long Beach, CA production team. You will trim, buff, clean and finish molded rubber components to meet engineering drawings and customer quality standards, in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are detail-oriented with hands-on skills, able to read English work instructions, and comfortable using hand tools and trimming equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 0-2 years in manufacturing or similar production environment.
  • Ability to read and understand English work instructions, process routers, and travelers.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity; ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Trim, buff, clean, and finish molded rubber components using hand tools and trimming equipment in accordance with process routers, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
  • Remove excess flash and perform precision finishing to ensure parts meet dimensional and cosmetic quality standards.
  • Perform visual in-process inspections and identify nonconforming products.
  • Repair or rework parts as directed by Quality or approved rework instructions.
  • Prepare completed parts and associated documentation for final Quality inspection.
  • Read and follow process routers, travelers, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.
  • Accurately complete production records, operation sign-offs, and production logs.
  • Verify daily production counts and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by returning tools, materials, and supplies to their designated locations.
  • Follow all environmental, health, safety, and PPE requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance quality, safety, and production efficiency.
  • Support other manufacturing departments and perform additional duties as assigned.

is seeking a Manufacturing Technician I - Cold Trim to join our Cold Trim department supporting the production of precision elastomer components used in aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. This role is responsible for trimming, buffing, cleaning, and finishing molded rubber components to meet engineering drawings, work instructions, and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in producing high-quality products in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions
  • Full-time onsite in Long Beach, CA.
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, dust, and production materials.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds without assistance.
  • Frequent use of hand tools and trimming equipment.
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while on the production floor.
  • Must be able to work from written and verbal instructions.
Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Equivalent certifications may be considered in lieu of formal education where applicable.
Experience
  • Minimum of 0-2+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, fabrication, composites, or a similar production environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to safely use hand tools and production equipment.
  • Ability to read and understand work instructions, process routers, and travelers in English.
  • Ability to identify product defects through visual inspection.
  • Basic documentation and recordkeeping skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with composite or rubber manufacturing processes is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
