Job summary

Boyd Thermal is seeking a Trim Operator for our Allenton, WI location. You will operate the trim press, inspect castings, and ensure quality while meeting production timelines.

The role is on first shift (7am-3pm or 6am-2pm) with potential for second shift later. A high school diploma and ability to follow instructions and safety procedures are required.

Job Description Boyd Thermal by Eaton is seeking a Trim Operator in our Allenton, WI location.

Primary Function: The Trim Operator plays a vital role in Boyd Thermal by Eaton’s Die Casting Team, contributing to the efficiency and quality of our die-cast manufacturing operations. In this position, you will be responsible for operating the trim press while making die-cast components, ensuring that they meet our quality standards and production timelines.

Key responsibilities include operating trim press, performing quality checks, and collaborating with team members to optimize the manufacturing process. This role requires attention to detail, technical skills, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Adaptability and a team-oriented mindset are crucial as you contribute to the overall success of our manufacturing goals.

This position is for 1st shift (7am-3pm or 6a-2p), possibility for 2nd shift in the future.

Base salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Essential Functions:

• Operate trim press machine Trim, inspect, and pack castings according to department procedures and part number work instructions
• Read and follow documented work instructions daily
• Enter production counts into Guardian ERP system
• Complete production-related documentation accurately and thoroughly (P-Charts, etc.)
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area
• Carry out duties as defined by Supervisor or Lead
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures related to safety, conduction, and manufacturing practices
• Must support and follow the QMS requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization on a professional level
• Basic reasoning skills and language skills (ability to read, listen, analyze, and interpret general business paperwork)
• Ability to accurately complete shop paperwork
• Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch and use hands to handle tools, parts, and equipment
• Must have the ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
• Specific vision abilities are required for this job and include close and distance vision, color, peripheral vision, and ability to focus

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous manufacturing experience

Working Conditions:

• Regularly works on the manufacturing floor and near production processes
• May be exposed to noise, moving equipment, temperature variation, chemicals, hazardous materials, and other manufacturing conditions
• Must wear required personal protective equipment
• May work alternate shifts, overtime, weekends, shutdowns, or schedule changes based on production requirements
