Job summary

Veronica Beard is seeking a Trim Associate in New York to support the Raw Materials – Trim team. You will issue and track trim purchase orders, monitor deliveries against the production calendar, and resolve receiving issues with suppliers.

The role requires 2–3 years in apparel production or purchasing, proficiency in Excel/Outlook, and PLM familiarity. Strong attention to detail and collaborative work style are essential.

Qualifications

  • 2–3 years of experience in apparel production, purchasing, supply chain, or raw materials; production or purchasing experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of the purchase order lifecycle, including order placement, delivery tracking, receiving, and reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook is required; experience with PLM systems (VibeIQ or similar) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Issue and track trim purchase orders for production and development needs; monitor order confirmations, pricing, lead times, and delivery dates against the production calendar.
  • Track incoming production trim shipments across domestic and overseas suppliers; proactively follow up on open orders and delays, and flag delivery risks to the trim team.
  • Coordinate order receiving with factories and internal teams; reconcile received quantities against purchase orders and packing lists, and resolve shortages, overages, and discrepancies directly with suppliers.
  • Review supplier shipping documentation for accuracy and completeness; elevate documentation or customs compliance issues.
  • Support invoice reconciliation by matching supplier invoices against purchase orders and receiving records.
  • Monitor trim and repair trim inventory levels; initiate replenishment orders to maintain adequate stock for production and customer service needs.
  • Compare production trims against approved standards; visit midtown factories as needed to troubleshoot trim receiving and quality issues.
  • Receive, inspect, and sort incoming trim packages, ensuring proper labeling and records; prepare outgoing shipments for development samples, production needs, and supplier collection cards.
  • Maintain accurate and easily retrievable records related to trim approvals, detail sheets, purchase orders, and development files.
  • Conduct regular audits and seasonal clean-ups to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain PLM system data entries and support data integrity across development and production records.
  • Assist in preparing trim kits and sample boards for development meetings, presentations, and supplier reviews.
  • Assist the trim team in ensuring timely delivery of trim samples and pre-production testing.
  • Provide repair trims for the customer service and production teams

Summary

The Trim Associate supports the trim team across both product development and production, with a primary focus on trim purchasing and order management. This role owns the day-to-day execution of trim purchase orders — issuing and tracking orders, monitoring deliveries against the production calendar, reconciling receipts, and following up with suppliers to keep production on schedule. The Trim Associate also supports factories and internal teams in resolving trim receiving issues. The position requires strong organizational skills, proactive follow-up, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements
  • 2–3 years of experience in apparel production, purchasing, supply chain, or raw materials; production or purchasing experience strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of the purchase order lifecycle, including order placement, delivery tracking, receiving, and reconciliation
  • Trim knowledge or inventory management background is a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel and Outlook is required; experience with PLM systems (VibeIQ or similar) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through; able to manage high volumes of components and data accurately
  • Clear, professional communication skills for daily coordination with suppliers, factories, and cross-functional partners
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 30 pounds regularly

The base salary range for this role is between $65,000 and $70,000. The relevant base salary will vary depending on wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training, degrees, and certifications. The base salary is just one component of our total compensation offerings, which consist of a comprehensive benefits package as well as a short-term incentive program, clothing allowance, and merchandise discounts.
