Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska's Winnebago Tribal Court is seeking a Paralegal to support the Presenting Officer and Prosecuting Attorney in child abuse and adult criminal cases. You will perform legal research, draft documents, and manage files under supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Associate Degree with Paralegal/Legal Secretary certification preferred.
• Equivalent relevant legal experience considered.
• Familiarity with ICWA and social services experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Attend court proceedings, draft orders and legal documents.
• Receive, catalog, file and disseminate legal correspondence.
• Coordinate and perform legal research.
• Prepare subpoenas and organize exhibits for trial.
• Maintain legal files and assist with filing pleadings.
• Schedule witnesses and manage hearings.
