Job summary

The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community is seeking a Tax Administrator to lead the Tribe’s Tax Authority under the CFO. You will coordinate tribal tax activities, issue communications, tax assessments and collections, and oversee revenue distribution from tribal entities.

You will work with the OTA, Assessor, and other departments to ensure compliance with tribal ordinances and state tax laws, while supervising staff and managing tax-related processes and projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with preference in Finance, Accounting, Business or Paralegal studies.
• Familiarity with tribal tax issues and applicable state/county tax laws is preferred.
• Experience supervising staff and coordinating with multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Issue valuation notices and tax assessments.
• Coordinate with CFO, OTA, and other departments on tax issues and filings.
• Manage tax revenue distributions and tax collections for tribal entities.
• Maintain relationships with county and other taxing authorities.
• Draft tax code changes and tax rulings as needed.
• Oversee deadlines for ILAs and quarterly/annual reporting.
