Job summary

Baker Tilly Advisory Group, LP is seeking a Manager to serve Tribal government clients, delivering ongoing accounting services and grant management functions. You’ll handle monthly closings, grants reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers, while also preparing polished client deliverables and developing updated policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills including proven commitment to providing exceptional client service via multiple communication methods.
• Ability to travel as needed, approximately 10-15%.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients and ensures timely delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to understand current practices and identify improvements; helps define new processes.
• Assists with project startup, following work plans, schedules, and kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits, helping them prepare for audit processes.
• Contributes to growing the practice and broad client base.
• Reviews own and team's work for accuracy and completeness.
• Plays an integral role in the Business Consulting Services team.
• Occasionally travels to client locations, trainings, or industry conferences.
