Job summary

Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska seeks a Curriculum Development Specialist to build a culturally sustaining curriculum for Educare Winnebago and K-12 programs in the Winnebago community. You will gather, review, and outline culturally relevant materials and coordinate with community partners to expand the curriculum.

The role requires developing a framework for each age group, supporting teachers, and ensuring materials reflect Ho-Chunk traditions while meeting state standards.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to obtain an associate degree or have an Associate's Degree in education preferably in curriculum development.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience developing Native American curriculum.
• Excellent organizational, detail, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiar with Google Classroom and using technology to support curriculum.
• Creative and innovative in curriculum development.
• Ability to work in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of the Ho-Chunk People.
• Maintain confidentiality of program matters.
• Ability to relate to and understand people.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage development of Winnebago Cultural Curriculum with partners familiar with Winnebago culture.
• Ensure lesson plans meet current Nebraska State Standards.
• Track progress and input and report to staff regularly.
• Create curriculum outlines for Educare Winnebago across age groups.
• Develop resource guides and provide staff with professional development on curriculum.
