• Researches and prepares criminal cases for trial, interviews victims and witnesses, investigates claims, and develops trial strategies.
• Arraigns, motions, trials, sentencing, and other proceedings; selects juries and argues to judges or juries.
• Cooperates with law enforcement to ensure investigations comply with rules and standards.
• Resolves cases by conferring with attorneys and agencies to reach pleas or sentences.
• Drafts motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Researches difficult legal issues and assists other prosecutors.
• Reviews and authorizes search warrants as appropriate.
• Serves in on-call status for arrest and search warrants; may require weekend/holiday coverage.
