Job summary

The Wichita County Criminal District Attorney's Office seeks an experienced Assistant District Attorney to join our prosecution team. You will lead cases from intake through trial, and you will conduct hearings, negotiations, and jury trials.

This role emphasizes collaboration with investigators, law enforcement, victims, witnesses, and defense counsel, ensuring filings comply with the Texas Code of Professional Responsibility and upholding ethics.

Qualifications

• J.D. degree from ABA-accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas in good standing.
• Prior prosecution or significant criminal litigation experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of criminal law and rules of evidence.
• Excellent communication, case-analysis, and trial skills.
• Ability to work with judges, attorneys, staff and law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the prosecution of assigned criminal cases from intake through trial.
• Conduct hearings, motion practice, plea negotiations, and jury trials.
• Collaborate with investigators, law enforcement, victims, witnesses, and defense counsel.
• Ensure filings, motions, and pleadings are accurate, timely, and compliant with Texas rules.
• Manage caseload efficiently while upholding professionalism and ethical judgment.
