BluePearl Pet Hospital in Tacoma, WA seeks two Overnight OR Daytime Veterinary Assistants for 4/10s shifts. Pay is $22–$29 per hour with shift differentials. Duties include triage, intake, vitals, client communication, and coordination with vets and staff in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsabilités

• Intake and triage of incoming patients
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds
• Take vitals including heart rate, pulse, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate and effort
• Client communication and education
• Perform rechecks, chart vital sign trends and client updates
• Maintain communications with intaking doctor to ensure prompt patient care
• Stocking and cleaning as needed
• Monitor waiting/exam room clients; update clients on wait time and patient status
• Coordinate with doctor and staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow
• Manage Cornerstone/Instinct hospital census

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking two knowledgeable and skilled Overnight OR Daytime Veterinary Assistants at our Tacoma, WA hospital! They are both 4/10s shifts. Pay: $22 - $29 / hour
Shift Differentials

• Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $4.50 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $8.00 Shift Differential
• Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $4.50 Shift Differential

Schedule

• Overnight Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 6pm-5am, 1 hour lunch break.
• Day Shift: Wednesday - Saturday 7am-6pm, 1 hour lunch break.
• 4 days on, 4 days off

As a Triage Veterinary Assistant, you will:

• Intake and Triage of Incoming Patients
• Report patient signalment, problem list, and plan during nursing rounds.
• Comfortable taking vitals, including accurately counting heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
• Client communication and education
• Perform consistent rechecks, chart vital sign trends and client updates.
• Constant communication with intaking doctor to ensure prompt and proper patient care
• Stocking and cleaning as needed
• Monitor the waiting/exam room clients; assist with refreshments/marketing materials; update clients on wait time/patient status
• Maintain open communication with the doctor and technical staff to minimize wait times and maximize patient flow regarding long wait times
• Manage Cornerstone/Instinct hospital census
