BluePearl Pet Hospital in Portland, OR seeks two Overnight Kennel Assistants to care for hospital patients, clean facilities, and assist with basic patient care. Opportunities exist to grow into Vet Assistant within the hospital.

Two schedule options are available: Sun/Mon/Tues and every other Wed 8pm-6am, or Thurs/Fri/Sat and every other Wed 8pm-6am, with differential pay of $3.50/hr on weekdays and $5.00/hr on weekends. We value animal lovers and team players.

Formación

• Passion for animals.
• Shelter/rescue/boarding experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsabilidades

• Observe patients for health concerns and report findings.
• Clean and disinfect hospital areas and equipment.
• Prepare meals, clean cages and bedding, manage litter boxes.
• Safely restrain cooperative patients during treatments.
• Provide routine patient care including dog walks.
• Maintain and clean hospital tools and equipment.
• Record patient voids and report to senior staff.
• Manage laundry and keep supplies stocked.
• Regularly patrol the facility to ensure cleanliness.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is seeking two dedicated Overnight Kennel Assistants to join their team in Northeast Portland! There is opportunity to grow into a Vet Assistant in the future within the hospital.

Schedule (two options):

• Sun/Mon/Tues and every other Wed 8pm-6am
• Thurs/Fri/Sat and every other Wed 8pm-6am

Shift Differentials (on top of your hourly rate):

• Saturday & Sunday overnight: $5.00 per hour
• Weekday overnight: $3.50 per hour

A Kennel Assistant attends to the basic needs of animals that are patients of the hospital and cleans the hospital facility, equipment, and tools. The role may include assistance with basic patient care such as the safe restraint of patients during treatment.

As a Kennel Assistant, you will:

• Observe patients for obvious signs of health concerns and report any findings to senior staff.
• Clean and disinfect areas of the hospital as often as is necessary to maintain high standards of care.
• Prepare patient meals, clean patient cages, and bedding, and maintain litter boxes.
• Safely approach and restrain cooperative patients as needed during treatments.
• Provide routine attention to patients, including walking dogs.
• Effectively clean and maintain hospital equipment and tools.
• Quantify patient voids and report findings to senior Veterinary Assistant or Technician.
• Remove and wash soiled laundry and keep clean laundry stocked.
• Patrol facility regularly to ensure cleanliness.
