Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a Triage Recheck Assistant to join the Emergency Department team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. This part-time, night shift role provides clinical support, patient care, and documentation to ensure safe, compassionate care.

You will monitor vital signs, assist with treatments, maintain patient safety, and collaborate with nurses and physicians. Requires GED/HiSET and Basic Life Support and EMT certifications; weekend rotation included.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET (Required)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• EMT certification (NREMT or equivalent)

Responsibilities

• Provide age-appropriate patient care, obtain vital signs, monitor conditions, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Assist with treatments and procedures, including dressings, following hospital protocols.
• Maintain a safe environment, assist with mobility, address allergies, and provide comfort.
• Support patients and families with compassionate communication.
• Maintain patient logs, manage charts, and deliver documentation to departments.
• Collaborate with nursing staff and colleagues to support efficient care and operations.
• Maintain required certifications, attend training, and follow safety procedures.

• Patient Care & Monitoring: Provide age-appropriate care, obtain vital signs, monitor patient conditions, and report changes to nursing staff.
• Clinical Support: Assist with treatments and procedures, including applying sterile and non-sterile dressings, following hospital protocols.
• Patient Safety & Comfort: Maintain a safe environment, assist with patient mobility, address allergies, and provide comfort measures.
• Patient Advocacy: Support patients and families, ensuring compassionate care and effective communication.
• Administrative Support: Maintain patient logs, manage charts, and deliver documentation to appropriate departments.
• Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with nursing staff and colleagues to support efficient patient care and department operations.
• Training & Compliance: Maintain required certifications, attend mandatory training, and follow hospital safety and emergency procedures.
