Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Outside Sales Rep (Trench Safety) to be the go-to for underground trench safety equipment rental and supplies. You’ll drive revenue, train customers, and build relationships with contractors across a defined territory in the United States.

The role includes base salary plus monthly commissions based on performance, with a minimum onboarding incentive. Safety is a core focus and benefits are offered to support you and your family.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Certification in Competent Person Training and Confined Space required.
• 3 years of sales experience and strong planning, problem-solving, organizational, communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maximize revenue from defined territory in facilities and construction sites.
• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers, acting as single point of contact.
• Demonstrate and train customers on trench safety products.
• Call potential customers to set up demonstrations and on-site visits.
• Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
• Collaborate with general rentals reps to promote cross-selling.
• Instruct Competent Person Training & Confined Space training classes.
• Install equipment and work with installation personnel as needed.
• Utilize Salesforce and other CRM tools to develop pipeline of opportunities.
• Perform other duties as needed.
