Job summary

Gregory Forrest Lester, Inc., a Cincinnati-area tree care and landscaping firm, is seeking a Tree Work Groundman to support climbers and bucket operators from the ground. The role emphasizes safety, equipment handling, and debris clearance to keep job sites efficient and pristine.

You will set up cones and safety barriers, assist with rigging and tool passes, operate ground equipment and hand tools, and collaborate with crew leaders.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work safely and effectively in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the job-site by setting up cones, signs, and safety barriers; maintain a clear and secure perimeter around dropping zones.
• Assist tree climbers by rigging gear and passing tools up to the canopy.
• Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, leafblowers, and hand tools.
• Clear debris from the client's property, dragging brush and logs and raking the area.
• Work closely with crew leaders to complete jobs efficiently.
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.

We are looking for a Tree Work Groundman to support our tree climbers and bucket truck operators from the ground. In this role, you will be essential to our daily operations by ensuring a safe job site, operating ground equipment, and managing debris clearance. Responsibilities:

• Prepare the job-site by setting up cones, signs, and safety barriers; maintain a clear and secure perimeter around dropping zones
• Assist tree climbers by rigging gear and passing tools/equipment up to the canopy
• Safely operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, leafblowers, and hand tools
• Clear the client's property of debris by dragging brush, heavy logs, and raking debris, ensuring the area is left pristine
• Work closely with crew leaders and team members to complete jobs efficiently
• Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
