Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is hiring for a Tree Trimmer-442 in Virginia. This full‑time, non‑exempt role involves trimming and removing trees, climbing with ladders and safety gear, and operating various tools and equipment across outdoor sites.

The position emphasizes safety, customer service, and teamwork, with on‑the‑job training provided. Pre-employment checks and potential travel may apply as part of field work.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Able to work with hands above head for extended periods.
• Able to walk, climb and work from ladders at various heights in demanding conditions.
• Ability to obtain knowledge to identify tree and shrub species.
• No fear of heights and good hand-eye coordination.
• Willing to work long hours and overtime, including emergencies and weekends.
• Willing to join local union and pay dues.

Responsibilities

• Trim and/or remove trees by climbing with ladders, safety belts, or from ground using saws and equipment.
• Operate and service hand and power tools used in tree trimming and removal.
• Obtain permission from property owners to perform work and coordinate access.
• Promote good customer relations and professional conduct on the crew.
• Load/unload trucks and feed debris into a woodchipper.
