Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Gorham, ME is seeking a climbing arborist to join our outdoor team. You will be responsible for climbing, pruning, and removing trees while working with a crew leader and ground staff.

Qualifications

• Must love the outdoors and be physically able to perform climbing tasks.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
• Previous tree climbing experience is required.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
• Must complete Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program on hire.
• Must complete Davey First Aid, CPR and defensive driving courses on hire.
• Pesticide licenses/certifications are preferred if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Climb trees and perform pruning and removal work safely and efficiently.
• Operate as an active crew member with ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services for clients.
• Include tasks such as pruning, thinning and removing deadwood, installing cables and braces, removing hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers and aerial lifts.

$28 - $38 per hour+ $2,500 Sign On Bonus (Basedon experience & certifications)

Position Overview

Trimand removetrees, remove unwanted,diseased or dying limbs on trees, or to affect the health and safety of trees or surrounding areasby performing the following duties.

Job Duties

What You’ll Do:

• Climb Trees! Davey offers both DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
• Operate as an active crew member with supporting ground crew and crew leader.
• Perform all aspects of tree pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Including but not limited to:
• Pruning, thinning and removing deadwood throughout the tree canopy
• Installation of cables, bracing and lightning protection systems
• Removal of hazardous trees
• Properly maintain, prepare and operate all tools and equipment including chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Seeking:

• Love of the outdoors
