Job summary

SavATree in Northvale, NJ is seeking a Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team. You will perform pruning, removals, and cabling, applying climbing and safety expertise to protect client landscapes.

You will climb safely, operate chainsaws and aerial lifts, follow ANSI pruning standards, identify hazards, and communicate with teammates and clients to ensure quality and safety on every job.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license required.
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.
• Proficient pruning techniques for large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub species and their characteristics.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs.
• Adherence to tree care safety standards.
• Experience with chainsaws and aerial lifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care: pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts, and other tree-care equipment.
• Apply ANSI A300 pruning standards and ANSI Z safety guidelines.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts while preserving health and structure.
• Assist in removals using ropes, spikes, and safe takedowns.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after jobs.
• Maintain clear communication with team members and clients.

Skills

Valid U.S. driver's license

Authorization to work in the U.S.
