Job summary

SavATree in Norwalk, CT is looking for a Crew Lead Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team. You will prune, remove, and cabling work, and climb safely using ropes, saddles, and ladders while operating chainsaws and bucket trucks.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and top-quality workmanship with strict safety standards. A valid US driver’s license and commitment to outdoor work are required.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver’s license (CDL preferred).
• Authorization to work legally in the U.S.
• Passion for outdoor work and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services, including pruning, removals, and cabling.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other equipment.
• Apply ANSI A300 pruning standards and ANSI Z safety practices.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and preserve tree health and structure.
• Assist in removals with ropes, spikes, and safe takedowns.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before/during/after jobs.
• Perform aerial rescues if necessary.
• Maintain strong communication with team members and clients.
• Take ownership of your role and promote a safety-focused culture.
