South Central Indiana REMC, headquartered in Martinsville, Indiana, is seeking a Ground Specialist for our tree clearance operations. The role involves loading, transporting, and setting up materials and equipment to support line clearance crews in all weather conditions.

You will operate heavy equipment, follow safety procedures, and work five days per week with potential overtime for storms. CDL or vegetation management certification is preferred, and a strong safety mindset is essential.

Competenze

• Must have a current motor vehicle operator’s license.
• Willing to work 5 days a week – 8 hours per day, seasonally and possibly evenings/weekends for storms.
• CDL or vegetation management certifications preferred.

Mansioni

• Safely loads and unloads trucks by hand or with booms, winches, skids, and dollies.
• Carries and lays out materials, tools, and equipment at the work site and furnishes these items to climbers manually or mechanically.
• Drives a truck with attached trailer or trailer/chipper and transports crew and equipment.
• Operates controls for winches, booms, and spray equipment.
• Follows signals and positions the truck at the site; operates related equipment.
• Be regular in attendance and able to drive to show-up sites within the service area.
